Port Ludlow to Watmough Bay
July 22, 2022Finally, we’re getting somewhere 🙂 This was my first crossing of the Strait of Juan de Fuca. It went well, albeit a little dull. The air smelled of our diesel engine and the view was 50 shades of Puget Sound grey. Ok, that’s sarcasm, but I actually love these mystical days on the water. It sets the mood for dreaming and reflecting.
After 6 hours of motoring through swirling currents and light fog, we landed in Watmough Bay on Lopez Island. This was an inviting little anchorage with beautiful hiking trails and a nice beach. Within an hour the skies opened up and it was a whole new day.
